How about those Timberwolves

The hot Minnesota Wild and their 6 wins in a row along with the firing of Gophers basketball coach Tubby Smith seem to dominate the Minnesota sports scene of late. There is one team that is making noise even with a disappointing record of 25-44. I am talking Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Timberwolves on Tuesday March 12h demolished the San Antonio Spurs by 24 at home. Two weeks to the date the Wolves go on the road to Detroit and win by 23.

It was just 4 days ago the team went into Phoenix and put a whooping on the Suns by 31. The team has gone 4-6 in the last 10 with 3 of those win by a average of 26. This Minnesota sports scene is crazy.

It is the first time in franchise history the team has won back to back road games with margin of victory of over 20. Congrats Timberwolves on this unbelievable feat.

The game on the 12th vs. San Antonio had Ricky Rubio get his first triple double in his career. The game in Detroit Tuesday the Wolves set a new team record with 14 three pointers going 14-26 for a 35 percent for the night. JJ Barea went 5 for 5 alone.

The Pistons had 38 points at the half and in the 3rd quarter the Timberwolves went off for 38 points in one quarter by itself. The 38 was a season high for the team.

The team record is not good but the last 2 weeks show us why I feel we have reason to be excited about the future of the organization.

Don’t forget Wednesday night the 27th will be a fun night as the Los Angeles Lakers come to town.
