This amazing
week just keeps getting better as the Wild go into Detroit and do what they
have not done since January 3, 2006 and that was get a win in Detroit. It had
been 11 road games since a win in Vancouver and 13 in Detroit since getting a
Wild road win. It happened not just in one city but the Wild conquered a 2nd
city.
I will not
say if rather when the team makes the playoffs; will we look back to this week
with the monster success on the road?
The question
should Wild fans be concerned after
winning a big game Monday and breaking a drought in Vancouver? As a fan had to
wonder how the team would come out.
This team
just gets better with every game and now a 4 game winning streak. Two back to
back wins on the road in cities where Minnesota has struggled just not one game
but for periods of a few years is incredible to witness a team growing quickly.
A Minnesota
team on national TV with lots to show the world and they did not disappoint. It
is so fun to hear announcers actually compliment a Minnesota team.
One strange
thing I noticed on TV was the lack of fans at the stadium. I look at the
announced attendance which said 20,066 (100 percent). The sad fact is how many
empty read chairs did you see as the crowd was scanned. This did not seem like
a normal Detroit Red Wings game. The fans that were there sure was fun to see
camera angles with Red Wings fans giving up.
Detroit out
shoots Minnesota 38-19 but yet the Wild win the game 4-2. This is just amazing
and we saw Wild goalie Backstrom record the most saves of the season stopping 36
Red Wing shots.
The passing
tonight was crisp with the power play goal by Kyle Brodziak, a beautiful piece
of work. I also loved Devin Setoguchi’s 2nd goal displaying his
ability to use his hands and maneuver the puck to make the goal look easy.
A home game
Saturday with San Jose is the next challenge. These road wins were huge but be
careful not to come ready. The season is shrinking quickly and the west race is
tight. No let downs allowed, Wild. You are giving the state of hockey reason to
be hopeful.
Come on Wild
send the Sharks back to San Jose and feeling like why did we come to Minnesota?
Oh yeah to watch the Wild get 2 more points.
Thanks for

Another great game! San Jose will be a big test for the wild. The true question is, how many more games can Backstrom play without resting? I don't believe Hackett has played a NHL game this season. Will he be ready when its his time? Most importantly, the Wild earned the win tonight! Go Wild!!
